Our story

From the hills of the Western Ghats.

Mocca Malabar Coffee was founded to bridge the gap between dedicated producers in the Ghats and quality-focused roasters around the world.

Starting with long-standing relationships with estates and family farms in Karnataka and Kerala, we began exporting small volumes of carefully selected lots. Over time, we grew into a sourcing partner for roasteries looking for traceable, characterful coffees with a strong sense of place.

Today, we combine on-the-ground presence at origin with cupping and quality evaluation closer to our roasting partners, allowing us to align flavour expectations with actual farm realities.

What guides Mocca Malabar Coffee.

Relationship over transaction

We invest in long-term partnerships with producers and roasters, favouring stability over short-term gains.

Transparency

Clear pricing structures, open communication about quality, and traceable supply chains are non-negotiable.

Curiosity & learning

We embrace experimentation in processing, variety selection, and profile development, learning alongside our partners.

Quality approach

Cupping-led decisions, every step of the way.

We evaluate coffees at multiple points: pre-shipment samples, arrival samples, and periodic quality checks during the season. Sensory notes, physical analysis, and roasting behaviour all shape our buying decisions.

This means you get coffees that are not only delicious on the cupping table but also behave predictably in your roaster. Our goal is to help you build menus and blends that your customers return to, season after season.
